Plaster Ceilings – Sound Absorption included

Metawell® plaster ceilings are composed of multiple aluminium panels, which are installed on a substructure at the building site, where the seams are filled and sanded. Acoustic ceilings are perforated and are provided with an acoustic felt on the reverse, which is applied in a thermo-mechanical process. Depending on the required sound absorption and the desired look, they differ in the perforation pattern and the portion that is free of perforations.

If desired, the perforation can be concealed behind a sound-absorbing plaster. For this purpose, fibreglass cloth is applied to the visible side.

To produce effective sound absorption, under certain circumstances only one part of the ceiling surface should be provided with perforations – thereby reducing investment and assembly costs.
